EVA GILLIAm, videographer
*CAMERAWOMAN * FIELD PRODUCER * WRITER * EDITOR * TRAINER
Eva was born and raised in the USA, and has spent much of her adult life working across media in Africa. Today she is a field producer, camerawoman and editor. Usually all at the same time.
In 2001 she moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo to work with Radio Okapi, part of the United Nations peacekeeping mission, as a clerk, and eventually as a journalist and radio producer.
In 2005 she relocated to Cape Town, completing a Master’s degree in In Film Film and Television Production at the University of Cape Town.
In 2006, she launched her freelancing career based in South Africa, working for international media broadcasters, NGOs and United Nations Organisations covering humanitarian, environmental and conflict/post-conflict stories throughout the continent.
Eva's skills as a journalist, camera woman, and editor bring forward the authenticity and texture of any story.
